Cool Point Shahi Tukda was established in 1960 by our beloved Grandfather Abdul Sattar, now their third generation is taking forward his legacy by continuing his business and his zeal of preserving and promoting the richness of this ancient desert which has its roots connected with the history of Shahjahanabad. The current old Delhi which was also known as Shajhanabad due to the capital of the emperor Shahjahan, Shahi Tukda was one of the favorite sweet dishes. The Shah Jahan’s Dastarkhwan (Dining table) was incomplete without the presence of Shahi Tukda. Hence, this traditional and delicious dish holds its essence within and beyond the walled city till now.Apart from the Mughal's contribution to architecture and 400 years long culture, the Shahi Tukda is also called the Mughlai Shahi Tukda, and as the name suggests Shahi means Royal, enduring its ancestries with the richness of royalty. Some say that the dish traveled with Babur within the sixteenth century, whereas some say it might somewhat be a desi fight the bread pudding that was well-liked across central Asia and continent within the medieval times, brought home by Babur and his organization.
